Posts should be written in third person, past tense. Spoken words can be bolded, but we ask you not to change the color of the posts otherwise, as we change the layout regularly and what looks good on one skin wont on another. We have no word count minimum aside from asking for a paragraph a post. We prefer to measure quality over quantity, and our most important posting rule is to always give your role-play partner a good, well thought-out post with something they can respond to. I must note, however, that all members should be capable of writing 600 words or more without difficulty, if needed. Most people here make wordy posts as well as shorter ones, and everyone should be able to keep up no matter what's going on!
We are rated a hard R and allow graphic content. However, we do not encourage an over-indulgence in smut-centered threads with no character development. All mature threads must be clearly labeled in the title.
Metagaming (your character knowing things about other characters that they can't possibly know), is not allowed under any circumstances; just because you know something doesn't mean your character does. Powerplay and godmodding is also not allowed without the permission and consent of your role-play partner.
We like our site's atmosphere to be happy, so lets keep the fighting and drama off of it as much as possible. If there's a dispute, PM one of the admins so they can handle it, don't take it upon yourself in a topic or in the chat box. Basically, respect everyone and don't throw discriminatory or hurtful remarks around out of character. This is arguably the most important rule of all!
Playbys should be a valid celebrity/model. Scenesters and deviantArt models do not count in our definition. Graphics in avatars should be no larger than 200px in height by 160px in width, and signature pictures should be no more than 400px in height, or 500px in width. If you can't make a pretty graphic, you can always request one.
As an end to this, an important note: the stuff that goes on in game threads or the IC C-Box (known as the "icebox" to members) are not to be taken as 100% canon as having actually happened. While it's acceptable to make reference to small things that happened there, do not treat serious, story-changing events that take place there as real. If you do something one night that was serious and you want to incorporate it into the actual board, we encourage this, but you must thread it out on the board itself.

That said, originals can not try to fill an important position one of the canons is occupying, whether they are taken or not. That's what the list is for, after all!

Many werewolves were born that way, but the number of bitten werewolves has risen since late 2006. Most newly bitten werewolves will have rabies, however. Many werewolves have also faced adversity in the recent years. Some have been caught by the military, some have lost jobs, been victims of hate crimes, and so on. Do not be afraid to incorporate these things into your character.
Not all Parisians are pro-werewolf. Many are afraid of them and what it means to their country, as they are causing so much trouble. Don't be afraid to be a hater!

If they've got a crazy history, go as in-depth as needed without neglecting personality. It should be at least 600 words at minimum.
